Govt staff yet to report back to work after Dashain holidays

Nov 14, 2016- The employees of Sorukot Area Administration Service Centre in Mugu have not returned to work after the festival holidays.
People of Natharpu, Bihi, Photu, Jima, Dhainakot, Kalai and Rara VDCs have been affected due to prolonged absence of the employees at the centre.
Locals said the centre’s office is closed even though the holidays ended weeks ago.
Dhirendra Bahadur Shahi of Natharpu VDC said service seekers have been forced to travel to the district headquarters to obtain citizenships and other documents because the centre’s staff have not reported back to duty.
Absence of VDC secretaries is already causing inconvenience for the villagers while getting recommendation letters for citizenships.
Dil Bahadur Paudel, one of the staff at the centre, said that they intend to return to work on November 17.
Chief District Officer Keshav Raj Sharma said he will demand clarification from the centre’s staff for taking extended leave without prior notice.
